Abstract

Does your organization need to add accessibility to their process, but you’re unsure how to start? Do you wonder how to get accessibility added and adopted without a mandate from top management? This session will teach you how to inject accessibility into an organization that isn’t going to stop and wait for it to be implemented. We'll cover the basics of how people with disabilities use technology, what the requirements, standards, and laws are, how to sell it to your stakeholders, and how to find qualified help (including how to avoid the fakers!). We'll cover tons of red flags to look out for - risks you will want to mitigate up front, how to evaluate YOUR users, (i.e., the members of your team) and build a process they’ll want to adopt, as well as learn how to write custom requirements and tests that minimize stress on your team but cover all the bases (or use ours, they are done and free!). We'll also teach you how to inspire your team and make sure they are engaged & prepared.
