Summary
If you use Microsoft Office programs to provide digital content (such as documents that are shared online or via email), then this workshop is for you! The workshop will cover Word, PowerPoint and Excel accessibility features that lead to a document that passes the built in accessibility checker and a more accessible PDF document.
Abstract
You may be thinking that since you don’t have anyone with disabilities accessing your content (that you know of) you don’t need to worry about creating accessible content.? But the truth is, the requirement of accessible design applies to the technology being used, not the individuals who will use the technology.
Start integrating accessibility into your workflow with hands on instruction and a customized ribbon provided to help make accessibility easier moving forward.
Participants will be able to: • Articulate the difference between the document work flow process used now and one that incorporates digital accessibility. • Integrate the features of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel to create digitally accessible documents which pass the accessibility checker and result in more accessible PDF's. • Learn accessibility concepts such as styles, headings, removing empty tags, abbreviations, images, tables, links, lists, how color impacts accessibility and the accessibility checker.
