Abstract |
| Taking better notes will lead to better grades. But what about those students who struggle to take notes in class? Sonocent Audio Notetaker is an innovative study tool which enables almost any student to create complete notes from class, facilitating both independence and better learning. Designed for students who struggle with note taking, Audio Notetaker combines audio, text and images in the same space to provide a truly UDL learning environment. Audio Notetaker’s unique audio workspace visualizes each phrase from an audio recording as a colored bar. These phrases can be color-coded during recording, enabling students to label teachers’ instructions as they would highlight words in a textbook. Using examples from current users, this session will explore why the software’s innovative approach to note taking is so effective for learning and how students with a wide range of disabilities are using it. |

He runs Sonocent with his father; a small British software company which aims to enable students with learning disabilities to study effectively. Their mission - better learning.
