Summary

Exploring legal compliance as it relates to digital (specifically video) accessibility.

Abstract

Digital technology is one of the fastest-growing industries being targeted by legal suits. In this session, we will review the building blocks of creating accessible digital technologies. From the ground up what steps should be taken to create accessible technology, how to audit current technology for accessibility, and why this all matters from a legal point of view.

With this broader understanding of the legal landscape and digital accessibility, we’ll present concrete ‘first steps’ toward implementing accessibility beginning with online video. Both live and recorded video content is now vital to the way we do business, and inaccessibility makes you susceptible to legal action. Video accessibility services like closed captioning, subtitles, and transcription ensure your content is accessible, searchable, and engaging.
