Step through and learn to use resources from the new WAI website to help you validate, document, and maintain WCAG conformance of your websites and applications.
Abstract
VPATs, certifications, and other claims of compliance can be confusing. This session guides you through free resources maintained by the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) at the W3C. As the global arbiter of web standards, the W3C is the authoritative source of tools and techniques that define and measure digital accessibility. Use these resources to gain confidence that you are implementing and validating globally accepted accessibility standards. Have hands-on experience that will help project managers, coders, designers, QA, and content providers to implement, validate, document, and maintain WCAG conformance of your websites and applications.

Sharron Rush
Sharron Rush is Co-founder and Executive Director of Knowbility, a nonprofit advocacy and consulting group based in Austin Texas. Starting with the invention of the Accessibility Internet Rally (AIR) program in 1998, Sharron has been a pioneer in advocating for digital accessibility as a way for organizations to innovate and reach broader markets. She is an enthusiastic community builder and has served on working groups at the W3C, the IAAP, and other community organizations in service to the mission of digital inclusion.
Robert Jolly
An accessibility-focused Project Manager with 20 years in the industry, Robert has managed teams and projects for clients including Georgetown University, MIT, Carnegie Mellon University, Zappos, Nintendo, Time Inc., American Airlines, JetBlue, and many others. He is a member of the W3C’s Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) Education and Outreach Working Group (EOWG), where he promotes web accessibility to a global audience of professionals by developing educational content in the form of tutorials, examples, and other documentation. Additionally, he evangelizes web accessibility by speaking at conferences, leading training workshops, and bringing a whole-team approach to accessibility and inclusive design.
