Abstract
What started as a small gathering of individuals, passionate about accessibility in the libraries, in a few short years grew to become an active organization that advocates for accessibility across the libraries and across Penn State University. With strong sponsorship and support, effective leadership, and engaged members, the Libraries Accessibility Committee has spearheaded issues like accessibility of classrooms and collections, accessibility training, accessibility awareness and assessment of accessibility efforts. In this session, Binky Lush and Vicki Brightbill, founding members of the committee, will highlight how a small group of accessibility pioneers can grow into a strong advocating force, accomplishing real results and raising the profile of accessibility at an institution.

She leads a number of teams in the Libraries focusing on enhancing the Libraries’ web site and discovery platforms to ensure an engaging, accessible, and user-centered search and discovery experience.
