Abstract
We live in a mobile world. Smartphone applications are a way of life and are used to consume all types of content. However, just like websites these mobile applications can present barriers for people with disabilities. We will discuss the most frequent accessibility issues that cause barriers. In doing so we will explore the built-in assistive technology (AT) that allow people with disabilities to access content on these devices. Once familiar with both the issues and AT attendees will learn and apply high level evaluation tools and techniques on mobile applications directly on the devices. Finally, we will discuss some of the limitations when evaluating the accessibility of mobile applications.
