Summary of Session

Mobile applications provide unique opportunities to make an inclusive curriculum. Unfortunately, many have not been built with accessibility in mind. In this session, you will learn how to evaluate the VoiceOver experience of iOS applications.

Abstract

This session will help bridge knowledge about web accessibility to iOS devices – iPhone and iPad. We’ll pull before and after examples from our experiences making several educational IPad applications more accessible for VoiceOver users. Attendees should be familiar with both basic web accessibility practices and standard (non-mobile) screen reader features.
