| Institutions are faced with many challenges to provide accessible learning materials to their students as mandated by ADA Section 508. Acknowledging that often the onus of accommodation is borne by the institution, the University of Illinois developed eText@Illinois – a browser-based HTML5 e-textbook delivery platform that was built with accessibility at its core. eText@Illinois is device agnostic, ADA Section 508-compliant and includes built-in class-roster based instructor/student communication system. Representatives from University of Illinois and the NFB, who have been at the forefront of evaluating electronic textbook delivery platforms, will share their experiences, demonstrate eText@Illinois, and illustrate how eText@Illinois delivers an engaging and inclusive reading and learning experience. |
