Summary of Session

This session will provide examples of how one university uses Read & Write Gold across the campus. A review of the tools and how the program is promoted to additional groups will be provided.

Abstract

Do you want to have more use out of the assistive technology owned by your school? Trying to come up with a rationale of use to purchase new technology? The Office of Disability Services at Southern New Hampshire University had Read & Write Gold purchased by demonstrating how it could be used beyond just students with disabilities. Learn how this program can be utilized, including examples of how we found students using the program, and how to promote the program to students outside of a disability services office.

Speaker Bio(s)

Liz Henley

Liz Henley is the Associate Director of the Office of Disability Services at Southern New Hampshire University. She graduated from SNHU with her M.Ed. in Elementary Education with General Special Education certification. She is currently in the process of obtaining her Ph.D. in Education from Walden University where she is specializing in Educational Technology. In addition to having a case load of students, she works with assistive technology and the textbook conversion process. Outside of disability services, she also teaches at SNHU in a variety of subject areas.
