In this session we will jump right in and use ARIA and HTML5 to create modern, accessible web applications. Starting with the basics, and working up to some more advanced examples, attendees will learn how to start using ARIA right away.
Abstract
In this presentation, Billy Gregory will walk developers through practical use cases of WAI-ARIA, starting with the basics, working up to more advanced examples.
Through live demonstrations, developers will witness firsthand how ARIA can be employed to assist users of assistive technology in navigating and understand both common and complex web applications.
A general overview of ARIA will be included to ensure developers understand not only "how" to use ARIA, but "when".
Developers will be able to leave this presentation with a firm understanding on how ARIA works, and a handful of practical "day one" examples of where and when to use it.
