| Digital accessibility is a complicated and oftentimes nebulous space. Many organizations have built or are building digital accessibility programs without a clear definition of what a successful program looks like. Roadmaps for accessibility can help understand where to start but a capability model is the best approach for measuring the degree to maturity a program has attained in managing and implementing accessibility. The Digital Accessibility Maturity Model provides a clear and concise method for measuring the development of accessibility programs. The model is split into seven core dimensions which define key areas of a program. These dimensions are, in turn, divided into a set of aspects each of which successful programs must master. The core dimensions include the following: ownership and governance, policy and standards, fiscal and risk management, design and development, testing and validation, support and documentation, and procurement.
