Summary of Session

Biography SharePoint Out-Of-The-Box is not “usable” by people with disabilities. Learn about the current state of accessibility for SP2010 and 2013 through case studies and real life experiences. See what can be done to accommodate people with disabilities and provide them a comparable user experience.

Abstract

The goal of software development companies who are developing section 508 related solutions should be to provide blind or sight-impaired users a comparable user experience to that of sighted users. Discover Technologies believes a person with disabilities should be able to access the same information and perform the same tasks or functions as a sighted user. Microsoft SharePoint, a major enterprise software product used throughout almost every industry (public and private), has no comparable user experience for sight-disabled users.
