Summary of Session

WYNN 7 offers students access to reading content of all levels plus the added benefit of note-taking and organization leading to the creation of written documents. Professors can interface with the process to assist and direct the student.

Abstract

WYNN 7 offers students, who struggle with reading, access to content from any source. The hallmark of the program is the user-friendly interface that alleviates the necessity for training often associated with technology integration in a classroom setting. While WYNN has always been heralded for its approach to reading comprehension, the release of WYNN 7 opens up an entirely new area for students with the addition of unique writing tools. Students can now utilize Notecards to cull important information from their reading and organize them into outlines for reference. Additionally, students can also access templates to create documents, long and short, for assignments. Assigments can even be designed for an individual or class by the professor or the DRC to "direct" the student towards the proper subject matter. Even outside resources can be linked to offer a fiull overview of the subject matter. Specific templates can be created for specific assignments. Finally, the addition of the PEARL camera an give a student instant access to material in the classroom in real time versus having to wait and scan them at a future time.

Steve Boyle

Steve Boyle, Western Regional Manager Steve Boyle joined the Learning Systems Group in 2006. Previously, he served as a Regional Manager with Knowledge Learning Corporation, an industry leader in Before-and-After-School educational programs as well as tutorial programs in support of the No Child Left Behind program. Additionally, he has over 20 years of regional customer service experience in technology, selling law enforcement equipment, and consumer products with such companies as Campbell Soup and Nestlé. Steve has a B.A. in Communications from the University of Virginia. Steve, his wife (a Special Ed Teacher) and two daughters reside in Roseville California.
