Abstract |
| Session participants will hear the dynamic story of integrating Google Glass on our campus, from a student accommodation and instructional perspective. 1.See the story of Ramona, a student with a visual impairment. By using the built-in camera, GPS, sensors and audio output, Ramona can navigate or experience her environment on campus in new ways. 2.Meet Dr. Clokey, our faculty explorer. He is a biology lecturer at UW-W that integrates Glass into his Biology class, creating accessible field experiences. 3.Meet Reggie, a student with a complex physical disability; he is using Glass to explore hands free empowerment to access his phone, email, internet, text messages, video chatting, Google Hangout, social media, taking pictures and videos, hands-free navigation and other applications. 4.See the story of Donnie, a freshman on the Autism Spectrum. We used Glass to create videos modeling appropriate social behaviors to create a virtual orientation to new environments/experiences. |
