Abstract
The presenter(s) will outline the past, current, and future steps taken by the University of Kentucky to implement a campus-wide initiative to create universally designed face-to-face, hybrid, and online courses to enhance the performance, knowledge, skills, and success of students. The experiences and responses of University partners to include faculty and staff will be discussed. The best practices in universal design and accessibility that have been, are being, and will be integrated into the design, development, and delivery of instruction on campus will be communicated. Resources for further pursuit in the universal design of instruction will be provided.

Deb Castiglione
Deb Castiglione is the Universal Design & Instructional Technology Specialist at the University of Kentucky, where she earned her doctorate in distance learning. She brings skills, knowledge, and experience in instructional design/development, universal design, accessibility, and assistive technology. Deb is a RESNA certified assistive technology professional (ATP) and has worked with children and adults with disabilities. She has developed and taught courses in instructional design, assistive technology, universal design, distance education: delivery, and instructional technology for the University of Kentucky, Gateway Community & Technical College, the University of Cincinnati, and Northern Kentucky University.
Beth Case
Beth Case is the Program Manager for Digital, Emerging, and Assistive Technologies at the Delphi Center for Teaching and Learning at the University of Louisville. She has two Master’s degrees, one in Clinical Psychology and one in Instructional Technology. She is also completing her dissertation for a doctoral degree in Instructional Technology. Prior to returning to graduate school, Beth worked in postsecondary disability services for 13 years. Her background in both disability services and instructional technology prepares her for helping faculty make online courses accessible to students with disabilities. She stays on top of emerging trends in using technology in education and enjoys sharing that knowledge with others.
