This lecture will present inclusion technologies and how they can be used to ensure that students and faculty who use alternate formats, can get access to these in a non-stigmatizing way. It will introduce methods and didactics to use these technologies not only as assistive technology but as learning tools to support a flexible learning style.
Abstract
This lecture will present innovative inclusion technologies in a fun and interesting way. It will include examples of good practice on how inclusion technologies can be used to ensure that users keep their privacy, have access to alternate formats when they need it and can do so in a timely fashion. Inclusion technologies can equally be used to promote enhanced learning and allow all students to be more efficient students with or without disabilities. The methods and didactics to support this will also be demonstrated through case stories and hands-on experience with flexible learning.

Lars Ballieu Christensen
Lars Ballieu Christensen (born 1963) works with technology and design for people with special needs. He advises government, organizations, academic institutions and companies on accessibility and inclusive design. Furthermore, he is the inventor of a range of innovative technologies that support inclusion and self-sufficiency amongst people with special needs, including the award-winning RoboBraille service. Lars holds master degrees in computer science and journalism, as well as a Ph.D. degree in computer science, all from the University of Roskilde, Denmark.

Tanja Stevns is a teacher for learners with special needs, specializing in vision impairment, general learning disorders and as a speech therapist. Tanja have more than 20 years experience in working with children, parents and professionals.
