Discover why the students enrolled in the Learning Disabilities Support Program at Marist College in New York are graduating at a higher rate than those in the general college population. Learn how this fee based program provides learning strategies that promote independence and personal success at college and beyond. Attendees will hear from the Program Director as she explains components of the program from the role of the Learning Specialists to the types of academic accommodations provided. She will also review the process of researching, purchasing, and implementing a new assistive technology product for use within the program. One of Marist?s Learning Specialists will demonstrate how students are now using this literacy support software and how the partnership between students and Learning Specialists works. Attendees will take away practical examples of how assistive technology can be applied to higher education curricula to support diverse learners including those with learning disabilities. |
