Abstract
Developing web-based applications that meet accessibility guidelines and regulations is fast becoming the mandate. In most organizations, accessibility is an afterthought, not a forethought. Retrofitting accessibility into an application after the fact is a time-consuming and expensive process.
In this session, we’ll talk about an online rich text editor tool that companies have integrated into online learning systems, content management systems, custom web applications, and java swing applications making the application and the output accessible and compliant with Section 508 and W3C’s WCAG Guidelines.

Ascendant is IBM Lotus’ largest business partner in Portal and Web Content Management technologies.
