Summary

Learn how one university is advancing a campus-wide digital accessibility plan to meet ADA Title II guidelines. This session shares lessons learned, progress made, and strategies for building sustainable, inclusive digital environments through collaboration, governance, and alignment of policy and practice.

Abstract

In 2023, we shared our institution’s launch of a university-wide holistic digital accessibility plan grounded in collaboration, education, accountability, and culture change. Now in the second phase of our multi-year effort, we continue to come together as a university to address digital accessibility systemically—building cross-functional teams, aligning policy with practice, and responding to evolving federal guidance.

This session will highlight our progress and lessons learned as we work to meet the Title II guidelines of the ADA and create a sustainable, inclusive digital environment for all. We will discuss how we’ve expanded partnerships, refined governance structures, and prioritized accessibility within key technology lifecycles. Attendees will come away with concrete strategies for mobilizing stakeholders, framing accessibility within institutional values, and maintaining momentum over time.
