Colorado State University has developed an effective and impactful service delivery model that has supported employees for over 15 years. Learn how you can utilize your existing resources to expand your services. Topics will include outreach, referrals, assessment and training, documentation, outcome measures for data collection and collaborating with campus partners (HR, ADA compliance, etc.).
Abstract
The Assistive Technology Resource Center at Colorado State University offers AT services, consultation, and training to students and employees with disabilities at CSU. Many Higher Education institutions do not provide AT services to their employees; however these supports are critical for many to be able to complete their job tasks.
Through case studies and discussion, the speakers will share CSU's current model for service provision to faculty, staff and employees with disabilities. Topics will include outreach, referrals, assessment and training, documentation, outcome measures for data collection and collaborating with campus partners (HR, ADA compliance, etc.). They will also provide tips and practice methods to expand your current resources to serve employees.

Michelle Brodsky
Michelle is an occupational therapist working in the Colorado State University Assistive Technology Resource Center. She serves CSU employees and students with disabilities by identifying and implementing assistive technology to support their participation in work and education. She also educates campus members on the importance of accessible electronic materials and universal design. Her practice is anchored in equity, diversity, and inclusion. Michelle has also worked as a school-based occupational therapist and as a teacher of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing. She has two grown children and enjoys dog training, partner dancing, yoga, and exploring all the beauty of Colorado.
