Abstract
Ensuring digital accessibility in online learning environments is essential for many of our learners. At Salt Lake Community College (SLCC), we created a comprehensive online training course for faculty and staff based on the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Levels A and AA. This session will detail the instructional design process, including needs assessment, content development, and alignment with accessibility standards. Attendees will gain insights into how the course was structured to maximize engagement and practical application. We will also share feedback from participants and lessons learned during implementation. Whether you're just beginning to address accessibility or looking to refine existing efforts, this presentation offers a replicable framework for empowering educators to create accessible digital content.

Cherise is an Instructional Designer with a background in Math Education. Upon learning about the federal guidelines, she embarked on reading and interpreting WCAG 2.1 A and AA standards with the assistance of the Accessibility & Disability Services personnel at SLCC. She may not be an expert yet, but she learns more every day.
Marie Horne
Marie Horne is an Assistant Director of Course and Program Development at Salt Lake Community College with over 15 years of experience as an instructional designer and 9 years as an English adjunct faculty. Marie has been assisting with making academic courses accessible and training faculty and staff on accessibility for the last 4 years.
