This is a 3-hour, hands-on workshop introducing the participants to Voice Over on the Mac computer. Voice Over concepts, settings, and usage in various apps will be explored. This is a bring your own device workshop so participants will need their own Mac computer.
Accessibility on the Mac operating system continues to improve and advance. Voice Over, the Apple screen reader, provides access for visually impaired individuals. This workshop will expand on the presentation Robert gave at last year’s conference. This will be a 3-hour, hands-on workshop exploring topics such as: setting up VO, the concept of Interaction, using VO with Finder and the Dock, VO and the web, and VO in Text Edit. It is a bring your own device workshop so participants will need to bring a Mac computer with them.
- Participants will learn Voice Over concepts and settings.
- Participants will use Voice Over in the Mac operating system.
- Participants will experience Voice Over on the web and in editing text.

Robert has been the Assistive Technology Specialist at Kansas City Kansas Community College since January of 1994. He is a member of AHEAD and ATHEN. He currently serves on the ATHEN Executive Board as a Member at Large Representative and on the Advisory Council for the Assistive Technology for Kansans Project. He has presented several sessions at previous Accessing Higher Ground conferences as well as other regional and national conferences.
