Join us for this high-intensity session as Derek demonstrates best practices for creating more accessible designs and development for web sites and applications.

Abstract

He will review the basics that developers need to create accessible text content, tables, images, forms, and multimedia, but he'll go further than that. He will teach attendees some often overlooked strategies that make complex forms, dynamic content, error messaging, contextual help, and focus path more accessible to people with disabilities. Derek will explore deeper topics like HTML5, CSS3, mobile development, ARIA, and responsive design, and how these ideas can play a significant role in accessibility. Attendees will gain a new understanding of what it means to go beyond programmatic accessibility, they'll leave with a set of deeper approaches to accessible web development, and they'll leave with the knowledge of how to put it all into practice.
