Abstract

Our session will focus on the best practices for accessible course development in the Blackboard 9 Learning Management System (LMS). We will develop an understanding of the new Bb 9 Learn platform by providing a hands-on training. We will cover how to create a new course, learning modules, lesson plans, rubrics, wikis, and use of various assessment tools. We will also highlight the tools in Bb 9 that incorporate the principles of Universal Design for Learning (UDL). We will then demonstrate how these UDL tools can provide multiple means of representation, expression, and engagement in an online learning environment.
