Summary

WCAG Success Criteria each contain explicit or implicit exceptions. All too often, those new to testing apply success criteria where they're not applicable. This talk hopes to help prevent new testers from making these mistakes.

Abstract

A common mistake made by those new to accessibility testing is over applying the guidelines. Even though some Success Criteria mention explicit exceptions, it's easy to not consider them or forget that they exist.

Knowing when not to apply the guidelines is just as important as knowing when to apply them. This presentation will look in-depth at situations in which WCAG Success Criteria do not apply.
